I've Been Blogged Y'all!!

2 years ago the website on which you are reading this blog post was just a dream in my head. I was this well-dressed, closet organizing guru who loved to write down her thoughts but had no idea how to share those thoughts with anyone outside of her friend circle. Thankfully, my path intersected with a brilliantly creative graphic designer and jack of all trades, and the eLevated style studio website was born. I always wanted to include an interview about myself as a way for those who didn't know me to learn more about my why. As time went by and I started to add more content, that idea went on the back burner until I met Monique Jeter Holley, known on the Gram as @momedia4u.

Social media is a wonder - Monique, affectionately known as Mo, was following my IG page and I was following hers but we'd never met in person. A late summer night found us both at City Winery attending a concert and the minute Mo approached me the energy between us literally crackled. It was like meeting someone you've known forever. I don't know about you but that type of connection is rare for me. I'm more of the "be polite and nice but sit back and observe before I fully engage" type when I meet new people. Not with Mo.
There was a little bit of small talk as we admired each other's outfits, then Mo got straight to business. She told me she wanted to feature me on her blog and asked if I would be willing to let her interview me. Talk about a moment where you could've bought me for a dollar! I'm simply enjoying the vibe of our chance encounter and now a desire of mine is being met without me having to lift a finger or ask. There are no coincidences - everything happens for a reason.
Fast forward to our initial meeting that was slated for one hour and ended up being a 4 hour lunch date. Then our second meeting where we took photos and made bystanders laugh with our combined silliness. The rest was history as the feature was posted and I was not only amazed by Mo's ability to bring me to life on her site but I was proud to actually read what I have accomplished. It may not be a lot to some but it's everything to me!

Thank you, Mo, my fellow butterfly, for sharing your gifts with me - both professional and personal, and for proving just how God puts people in your life at the right time. And, if you are wondering what my favorite interview question was, look below.
